How To Get An Ikran In Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora
You won’t be able to miss the Ikran in the game, all you have to do is to continue the story quests of the game normally until you reach the 11th Quest of the game named “Take Flight quest”. It may take roughly 11 hours to reach there but it depends upon how you are playing the game, doing side quests, and a lot of exploration or not. In the “Take Flight quest”, you have to climb a mountain to reach the top where you will get the Ikran.
During the quest, you have to move towards Ikran Rookery and do a lot of climbing until you reach the top of the mountain. You may encounter many hurdles in the path for example Gateway Lilies. These are plants that you will encounter many times which closes the pathway. But on touching the nearby leaves, it will get open. Once you reach the top, there you will see your Ikran. He tries to move away from you but you need to tame him first. Approach him slowly until you see a prompt “Hold E to soothe”, on several attempts you will be able to bond with him. After that, you can customize your Ikran.
After getting this wonderful creature in Pandora, you can call him any time by pressing the “H” button on the keyboard.
How to customize your Ikran
After soothing and bonding with Ikran, you will have the option to customize him. You can change his patterns, colors, and names. Sadly, you cannot give him a custom name but have to choose from some predefined choices.
The customizations are not just limited to this only. In the game you can find many side quests where you can get new patterns as reward to change the appearance of your Ikran. There is an Ikran icon in your character menu where you can change saddles and other cosmetics.
How to manage Ikran’s Energy
Just like your character, Ikran also possesses a finite amount of energy which can get depleted over time or on massive accelerations. So it is crucial to keep an eye on the Ikran’s energy meter. Fortunately, there are many ways to replenish his energy which can also be done during mid-flight.
Flying into the swarms of birds: The first method is to fly into the swarms of the birds to maintain their energy during the flight.
Feeding him: The second method to replenish his energy is to feed him. You can also do this during the flight. All you need to do is to access the food menu and select the food which you want him to eat.
Note: You can also train Ikran to catch the fish on approaching any water bodies.
